• 📌 Make-up Quiz

  Dear Students,
  
  Next week (May 4–8, 2026), the seventh short exam (quiz) will be administered. In addition to these seven quizzes, a make-up quiz will be held in Week 13 (May 11–15, 2026). All students are encouraged to take the make-up quiz.
  
  If you have taken all seven quizzes but received a low grade on any of them, your make-up quiz grade will replace that score. If you missed any quiz due to health issues or official assignments, the make-up quiz grade will count in place of the missed one. Students who have official assignments are not required to take the make-up quiz.

• 📌 KIM101/101E Midterm Make-Up Exam Announcement

  Dear Students,
  
  The make-up exam for the midterm of KIM101/101E will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, from 17:30 to 19:30 in classrooms FEB D-101 and D-102.
  
  Students who wish to take the make-up exam must apply to the Student Affairs Office of their respective faculties with a document validating their excuse by Friday, April 24th at the latest. Additionally, they must inform the course coordinator (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fuat Topuz: topuzf@itu.edu.tr) via e-mail that they have submitted their application. Only students whose official approval letters from their faculties have been forwarded to our coordination office will be allowed to take the exam.
  
  Please do not forget to send this informative e-mail to the coordinator; this step is essential for finalizing and announcing the student lists before the exam. Also, please ensure you include your NAME, SURNAME, STUDENT ID, and the CRN of your KIM101E course in your e-mail.
• 📌 Important Warning Regarding Common Course Hours and Exam Conflicts

  Dear Students,
  
  The hours for the Common Courses and Common Laboratory Courses conducted by our Faculty have been announced in advance through the system, and all university units have been notified that these hours must be strictly protected.
  
  However, it has been observed that some departments have scheduled midterm exams that conflict with these hours, preventing our students from participating in Common courses and the quizzes conducted during class.
  
  To avoid any loss of rights, you must consider the following points:
  
  • Participation in Classes and Quizzes: Common courses and the quizzes within these courses are conducted as announced in the course syllabi. As stated at the beginning of the semester, no makeup exams will be provided for students who miss the quizzes.
  
  • Right to a Makeup Exam: Units that schedule an exam to conflict with an announced course hour are obligated to grant the right to a makeup exam to students who cannot attend the departmental exam due to this conflict.
  
  • Procedure to Follow: If a departmental exam conflicts with your Common course and quiz hour, you must request your right to a makeup exam for the relevant departmental exam that caused the conflict. You should apply to the respective faculty/department, declare your scheduled course/quiz, and submit a request for a makeup exam.
  
  • Important Reminder: Students who choose to take the exam of another unit that caused the conflict and consequently do not attend the Common course/quiz will receive a grade of 0 (zero) for the relevant quiz and will be marked as "absent" in the attendance records.
  
  We remind you that participation in classes and quizzes is critical to your academic success. We strongly urge you to report any conflict situations to the relevant faculty and department chairs without delay.
