• 📌 KIM101-KIM101E Midterm Make-Up Exam Announcement

  Dear Students,

  The make-up exam for the midterm of KIM101/101E will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 17.30 to 19.30 (Exam location will be announced later).

  Students who wish to take the make-up exam must apply to the Student Affairs Office of their respective faculties, with a document validating their excuse, by Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the end of the business day. In addition, they must notify the course coordinator (Prof. Dr. Muhammet U. Kahveci – kahvecimuh@itu.edu.tr) by e-mail that they have submitted their application. Only students whose official faculty approval letters have been forwarded to our coordination office will be admitted to the exam.

  Please do not forget to send this notification e-mail to the coordinator after applying to your faculty; the list of eligible students will be finalized and announced based on these notifications. In your e-mail, please be sure to include your NAME, SURNAME, STUDENT ID, and the CRN of your KIM101/101E course.
• Pearson Campus Ambassador Announcement

  Dear Students,
  
  Before the quizzes which will be held this week, it is important to register Pearson MyLab/Mastering platform. Registration guides, Pearson technical support and contact information, quiz guides, lists of frequently encountered issues, and short introductory videos for each course platform are available via moodle.itu.edu.tr. Students can access these documents by logging in to moodle.itu.edu.tr with their ITU username and password and navigating to the relevant documents under the CRNs of their courses on the main page.  These documents can also be accessed via the Faculty of Science and Letters website and the common course pages of the relevant departments.

• Registration for the Quiz Platform

  • To access the Pearson quiz platform, you must complete the registration process in full.

  • During registration, make sure that you enter your student number, ITU username, and first and last name correctly in the relevant fields. Otherwise, your quiz results will not be transferred to the Student Information System.

  • You may watch the registration video and course-specific introductory video, and consult the guide for possible technical issues.

  • Students who are unable to complete their registration on the Pearson platform for any reason may request support via yardim.pearson.com.tr by providing the student’s full name, student ID number, CRN information of the registered course(s), and the received error codes.
• 2025–2026 Summer Term Courses

  • Attendance will be taken beginning with the first lecture of the term. To satisfy the attendance requirement, students must attend at least 8 out of the 12 lectures. Medical reports will not be taken into consideration. Students must check their attendance status on Kepler immediately after digital attendance is recorded during the lecture. Objections submitted after the lecture will not be considered.

  • A total of 5 quizzes will be administered during the second lecture of each week, except for the first week. A quiz will be considered invalid if the student’s attendance is not confirmed by the attendance record.

  • One make-up quiz will be held during the final week of the term. The attendance requirement will not apply to the make-up quiz.

  • The quiz grade will be calculated based on the highest 5 grades obtained from the quizzes administered throughout the term.

  • To be eligible to take the final exam, students must satisfy the attendance requirement and take the midterm exam. Students who do not meet these requirements will receive a VF letter grade.

  • The final course grade will be calculated based on the following weights: 40% midterm examination, 20% quizzes, and 40% final examination.
• Digital attendance system

  The attendance process will be entirely under the authority of the course instructor. You are required to scan your ITU ID cards on the back of the attendance device at a time designated by the instructor during the class. Seeing the "Okuma başarılıdır" (Reading successful) message on the screen after scanning confirms that your data has been directly integrated into the Student Information System (ÖBS). You can track your attendance records via the ÖBS. To ensure this process runs smoothly, you must pay attention to the following points: ● Card Reading Issues: If your ID card cannot be read or is faulty, you must inform the course instructor and have them record your name. In such exceptional cases, it is your responsibility to verify that your attendance is entered into the ÖBS within one week at the latest. Students must always check their attendance on the ÖBS after scanning. If your attendance is not visible, you must notify the instructor during the break or at the end of the class. The responsibility for this lies with the student. Late notifications or appeals submitted later via help tickets will not be accepted. The attendance data in the ÖBS will be considered final and valid. ● Disciplinary Rules: Scanning an ID card on behalf of another student is a disciplinary offense. If detected, this action carries a penalty of suspension for up to 6 months.
